ExSep extreme separators

Compact solid–liquid separation for municipal and industrial wastewater pretreatment.

The patented ExSep separator removes suspended solids from liquids using gravity and flow dynamics. It is used for pretreatment of municipal wastewater, industrial process water and oil–water mixtures, as well as in containerised BOX4WATER treatment systems.

Pretreatment benefits

Removing suspended solids before subsequent treatment reduces the load on downstream equipment. ExSep can replace conventional grit traps and settling tanks in suitable process configurations, helping reduce the footprint and operating demands of treatment facilities.

The product range covers flows from 0.5 to 250 m³/hour and separation efficiency of up to 99%.

Configuration options

  • Stainless steel, coated carbon steel or plastic construction, selected for the size and application.
  • Pumps and interconnecting pipework.
  • An optional flocculant preparation and dosing station, where required by the industrial process.
  • Process measurement sensors, a control system and remote monitoring.
  • A frame-mounted ExSep 2000 configuration suitable for installation in a freight container.
  • Models from ExSep 500 to ExSep 7000, with diameters from 500 to 7,000 mm.

Process integration

Feed characteristics depend on the application and industry. Municipal and industrial wastewater can be pretreated before further treatment or transfer to a municipal wastewater treatment facility. Equipment configuration is selected for the project requirements.
