BOX4WATER WW-H wastewater treatment

Containerised, modular systems for decentralised treatment of domestic wastewater.

BOX4WATER provides a compact, mobile, turnkey solution for decentralised wastewater treatment in locations without access to a public sewer network. On-site containerised treatment reduces the need for long sewer pipelines and pumping connections to municipal treatment plants.

Process configuration

The system combines ExSep pretreatment with biological treatment and membrane filtration. ExSep separates organic and inorganic matter using gravity and hydrodynamic effects, reducing the load on subsequent treatment stages.

A modular wastewater treatment system includes:

  • A screen with a 2 mm mesh size.
  • A balancing and homogenisation tank.
  • An ExSep separator for reducing suspended solids.
  • A membrane bioreactor for biological treatment.

The equipment is assembled inside an equipped container. A dedicated control unit with a touch screen provides local operation and remote monitoring. Additional modules can be installed as capacity requirements grow.

Treatment sequence

  1. Screening to remove coarse solids larger than 2 mm.
  2. Collection, flow balancing and homogenisation of the screened wastewater.
  3. Mechanical pretreatment in the ExSep separator.
  4. Biological treatment in the membrane bioreactor.
  5. Membrane separation of treated water from the sludge mixture.
  6. Dewatering of sludge and excess mineralised activated sludge without flocculants.

Monitoring and control

The process is monitored and controlled by a programmable logic controller. Operation can be managed locally from a touch panel or remotely.
